Wow thank you for this excellent reminder, Zulie! Myth 1 stuck with me for a long time until, like you, a client offered me double the rate I offered them. I remind myself of that whenever I’m not feeling confident about the rate I offer prospects. Moreover, somehow, I end up doing my very best work for this particular client. It’s as if that kind of initial fairness, professionalism, and belief in their new writers set the precedent for a respectful and enjoyable working relationship, don’t you think? Cheers!
